Home Insurance

Jul 28, 2010 under Uncategorized | No Comment Yet

When you think about constructing your own house, you will have to consider insuring it. The premium maybe pricey but the feeling of assurance whatever happens to your house is worth it. Like life insurance leads, you can also look for home insurance leads. It is up to you to decide what kind of insurance you will avail.

Home insurance as it is commonly called hazard insurance protects the homeowners from any losses that occurs inside the house. It can also be used as protection for the loss of the house itself or any untoward incidents (like fire) that can damage the house.

When our place was hit by typhoon and flooded, there are some owners who had their house insured for damage made by acts of God. And with that, their houses and the damage the flood brought were paid by their insurance company.

Wood Furniture

Jul 24, 2010 under Furniture | No Comment Yet

So while I was browsing for cheap modern furniture, I came across a site that offers rustic furniture. Reminds me of my mom so much as she is so in love with wood furniture. In fact, she knew a lot of people in the wood industry in the eastern part of Luzon.

Part of me was amazed at how this kind of furniture are made. We have one in the house and I can’t find a single nail on it. It does not use one! They assemble it in a way that the wood parts are locked to each other without the use of nails. How cool can that be? And oh if you think it easily fell off, not it’s not. You will need all the strength you need to break them apart and you will not succeed.

And still part of me is wishing to have one wood furniture in my garden when we have one (and hopefully that would be next year). My mom says that one of the best wood furniture to purchase is the one made out of Molave tree. This one can withstand weather, fire and heat. A very nice addition to a garden.

Cheap Modern Furniture

Jul 21, 2010 under Furniture | No Comment Yet

I have been looking for write ups about cheap furniture. I know more and people are looking for modern and contemporary furniture but they are always restraint by their finances. I want to publish a nice essay here in my home management blog about contemporary furniture and where you can find cheap modern furniture. But I am not yet familiar with modern furniture so I have been considering buying essay that talks about that topic. I can learn from it and from that I can make my own. I believe there are even sites on the Internet that offers custom essays, so that is another option. An essay can be a good alternative here on my blog, instead of me blabbing about my home management system and goals. Or I can even look for academic writing service for a more thorough write up about modern furniture. I really want to know more about modern and contemporary furniture and share it to my readers.

Anyways, since I don’t have much information on where to buy cheap modern furniture or cheap contemporary furniture, I will continue my research on it. From now, I will focus on Abad Santos furniture shops. I might ask hubby to drive me there so I can take a pic on what is in store there.

Abad Santos Furniture Shops Direction

Jul 19, 2010 under Furniture, Uncategorized | No Comment Yet

There was a street in Caloocan City where cheap furniture are being sold. This is known as the Abad Santos furniture shops. Actually, it was not located on Abad Santons Street but the street was known as such because the stretch starts from Abad Santos LRT terminal. So if you want to find cheap furniture, it is just an LRT away from you.

If you are coming from Bulacan, or any part in Northern Manila, all you have to do is travel thorugh Mc Arthur Highway and along the LRT line, when you reached the Abad Santos station, you will see the stretch of furniture shops there.

For some who are coming in the Eastern part or Southern Manila area, EDSA seems to be the best way or you can also take Araneta Avenue.

The number of furniture shops on that street is more than 20. So if you are really looking for cheap furniture, this is the place you should be. Just remember to canvass first before buying your dinning table or your sala set.

Boat Buying: The Intex® Boats

Jul 11, 2010 under Uncategorized | No Comment Yet

We’re still here on the same house, the house where Ondoy hit us. So this rainy season, I promised myself I will spend some money on boats and life jackets. We never know what might happen this year. Of course, the only boat brand I know is Intex. I thought there is only one type of boat Intex offers, the orange one, The Intex® Explorer. It comes in two sizes, a one person and a two person; some models come as a package with oars and an inflation pump. The Explorer features two air chambers for safety, grab rope on bow, inflatable floor for comfort and rigidity, weilded oar locks, and U.S. Coast Guard I.D. (from www.intexcorp.com)

I learned that Intex offers a lot of kinds of boats depending on the purpose and use. They even offer boats for kayaking. After browsing, my eyes are fixed on The Intex® Club boats. It come in four sizes, ranging from a one person to a four person boat. Some models come as a package with oars and an inflation pump. The Club boats feature two air chambers for saftey, all-around grab line, grab handle on bow (200/300/400 models), inflatable floor for comfort and rigidity, weilded oar locks, and U.S. Coast Guard I.D. (from www.intexcorp.com)

I want to buy the Club 400 which can sit up to 4 people, that’s 2 adults and 2 kids. If my money can do, I will buy two of this kind. Club 400 comes with two oars and pump.

LSAT Preparations

Jul 11, 2010 under Uncategorized | No Comment Yet

Although home is a good place to study and review, some opt to be in a hotel to study. This usually happens during the major exams a student or a graduate student has to take. Like for example when they need to study their lsat prep courses. LSAT or Law School Admission Test is the test given to students who aspires to be in a law school. This is given to countries such as USA and Canada. Here in our country, I am not quite sure. If there is one law exam that the law school students prepares for, that is the Bar exam. And from what I heard, some students really prefers to review in the hotel or to more relax place than home.

Maybe their home is too homey or it has a lot of distraction. What do you think?

Please Not Again

Jul 10, 2010 under Rants | No Comment Yet

One night while I was busy looking for supplements for me (for my calcium needs) at www.besthghsupplements.org, it rained so hard. It brings me back to September last year. It was Friday night and it was raining all night. Saturday morning and the rain kept pouring. Around 1 PM that day, the water starts to raise and by 5 PM that day, our 1st floor is already submerged in flood water. It was the most traumatic experience I had. And now, it’s haunting me.

And to think we are almost done on our way to 100% recovery (financially and emotionally). Then it’s rainy season again. I really hope that we won’t be hit by another flood. The house was a wreck last September. And I don’t think I can afford to buy another set of furniture and appliance if flood water hit us again.

As Promised

Here are some photos of the hotel like hospital I have been telling you about. It’s so homey you won’t feel you’re inside the hospital, and oh, it does not smell like a hospital too!

That’s their suite room, I tell you, a carpet is all it takes.
